Glued a stretch-in hall runner instead of tackless, worked out fine
Had a 12 foot runner job in a 1920s house where the floor was so wavy that tackless strips would have left visible gaps on both sides. I went with direct glue-down using a pressure-sensitive adhesive instead, and it laid flat without any of the bounce I was worried about. Anyone else take the glue route on tricky stretches, or do you usually fight the floor with extra padding?

Did you use a moisture barrier or prime the subfloor before you laid that glue down? I always wonder about old houses like that because the wood can suck up adhesive way faster than you expect, and if it dries too quick you end up with spots that just wont stick. Also, how did you handle the edges where the runner meets the baseboard, did you trim it tight or leave a little gap for movement? That wavy floor situation is exactly why I started keeping a roll of felt paper around, but your glue method has me second guessing if I've been overthinking it this whole time.
