Spent 2 hours rewriting my resume based on a TikTok video and got zero callbacks in 3 weeks
Honestly I followed this influencer's advice about using action verbs and matching keywords from job descriptions but now I'm wondering if that was a complete waste of time considering I had way more interviews before with my old boring format, has anyone else felt like these resume hacks actually backfire?

It's a complete waste of time matching keywords if your resume reads like a bot wrote it. That whole TikTok trend about cramming action verbs and buzzwords just makes everything sound fake and desperate. Hiring managers can spot that a mile away, and they toss those resumes in the trash instantly. Your old boring format probably just let your actual experience speak for itself without all the noise. Go back to it and ignore the influencers who never actually hired anyone.
