Just had a talk with my uncle who's been a plumber for 30 years that flipped my view on college degrees.

He said, 'I've hired three guys with business degrees this year to run my vans, and the one who started as my apprentice at 18 owns two trucks now,' which really made me question the default path.

Honestly, that supply chain job sounds great but it's still one specific door. The original post hits on something bigger. I've seen so many people with degrees stuck in jobs that don't need them, just to pay off loans. Meanwhile, my friend who skipped college for an electrician license now runs his own crew and makes more than most of our grad friends. It's not that degrees are bad, it's that they're not the only good path anymore.

My cousin got a business degree and now manages a whole supply chain for a manufacturing plant. That degree opened doors his high school diploma never could.
