Dropped $300 on a career coaching package that was total fluff

I signed up for a 6 week career coaching program back in March because I felt stuck in my admin job in Atlanta. The coach promised personalized resume help, mock interviews, and a network of contacts. What I got was a bunch of generic worksheets and a 30 minute call once a week where she just told me to update my LinkedIn. I spent $300 and ended up with no real job leads or even a decent resume rewrite. The whole thing felt like she was reading off a script she found online. Has anyone else tried one of these coaching services and actually got something useful out of it?

You went in with expectations that were too high for $300. That price point buys you a template and some accountability, not a custom career overhaul. Real coaching that actually gets results costs more like $1,000 to $3,000 and involves the coach digging into your specific industry, reviewing your actual application materials line by line, and roleplaying tough interview questions with you for hours. The coach you hired was probably just running a side hustle with a script she bought online. Next time look for someone who specializes in your field, has verifiable client success stories, and charges enough that they can afford to actually work with you one on one.

Yeah totally agree with @sam_rivera here. You got what you paid for basically.
