That $18 cable comb saved my whole desk setup
I finally got sick of the spaghetti behind my TV stand after 2 months of ignoring it, so I grabbed one of those cheap plastic cable combs from the hardware aisle and ran all my HDMI and power lines through it in one pass. Turns out the trick is combing each cable individually before you bundle them together, otherwise you just get a tangled mess that looks neat from the front but fights you every time you unplug something. Has anyone else found that the key is prepping the cables before you zip tie them, or am I late to this?

I did the same thing last weekend with my surge protector, and I had to redo it three times because I kept forgetting which cable went where. My trick now is labeling each end with a piece of masking tape before I even touch the comb, saves me a ton of cussing later. It’s honestly the most organized I’ve felt all year, which says a lot about my life.
