Snake bite scare flipped my view on crawl space jobs
Before, I handled crawl space jobs fast, with little care. Then last month, I reached for a cable and felt a sharp sting on my hand. A copperhead snake was hiding in the debris. I had to rush to the hospital and lost a week of pay. Now I scan the area with a flashlight and wear thick gloves each time. It frustrates me that I was so reckless before. That incident made me see how hazardous these places are. I even bought a snake bite kit for my truck. I won't skip safety steps anymore.

Yikes, that's terrifying! I read that copperheads love hiding in debris like that, so your new routine makes total sense.

What kind of debris are we talking about? Like old lumber piles or just leaf litter?
