Spent $300 on a digital angle gauge for my miter saw and it's the best money I ever spent for perfect face frames.

I was always a hair off with a regular square, but this thing gets me dead-on every single time, so what other small tools have made a huge difference in your accuracy?

A good marking knife changes everything.

Ever try a good pair of layout dividers? They seem so simple but they let you copy a measurement exactly and mark it without any wiggle room. I use them for transferring hinge locations or spacing out drawer pulls. It cuts out so many little errors that add up. That and a sharp marking knife, like grant said, just makes a clean line you can actually see and follow.

Transferring hinge locations" sounds way too precise for my shaky hands.
