Saw a kitchen in a Portland open house that made me shake my head
I was walking through a remodeled bungalow last weekend, and the new owner was bragging about the 'custom' cabinets. They had these huge, clunky pulls on every drawer, each one about six inches long. The guy said he picked them because they looked 'solid' but they totally threw off the clean lines of the shaker doors. It felt like he spent $200 on hardware just to ruin the look. Has anyone else seen a good design get wrecked by one bad choice like that?

Honestly, that bit about "one bad choice" wrecking a good design is everywhere. Tbh I see it all the time with people adding a giant modern light fixture to a cozy old house. It just kills the whole vibe for one flashy piece.

Solid" hardware, more like solidly missing the point. Dude paid to make his kitchen look like it has giant metal braces.
