Took me 11 days to figure out why my shrimp kept dying in a 2 gallon bowl on my desk
Turned out my tap water in Dayton has copper levels that are fine for humans but deadly for neocaridina, and I was topping off with straight tap the entire time. I lost 6 cherry shrimp before a guy at my local fish store handed me a test kit and said "check your source water first, not the tank." Now I use RO water from the grocery store dispenser for every top off, which costs me about $0.40 a gallon. Anyone else get blindsided by their own tap water parameters?
