Finally hit my $500 emergency fund goal after a crazy week
This past week was nuts, my shop had three cars with the same weird transmission shudder. I worked a ton of extra hours to figure it out. I put every single overtime dollar straight into my savings account. Seeing that balance hit $502.37 this morning felt SO good. Has anyone else had a tough week that actually helped them reach a money goal?

That "weird transmission shudder" sounds familiar. I once had a car that did that and fixing it wiped out my savings, so building that fund back was a long road.

right after that transmission fix I started a separate savings account just for car stuff. set up an automatic $50 per month transfer. it hurts less when you don't have to think about it. took a while but having that buffer saved my butt when the alternator went out last year. once you get that baseline cushion, you can start adding a little more each month. feels way better watching that balance grow than starting from zero every time something breaks.
