Back in 2015, I was spending $200 a month just on coffee shops without even noticing.

I switched to a basic drip machine at home and a travel mug, which cut that cost down to about $20 a month for beans. The change happened after I saw a full year's total on my bank statement and felt pretty silly about it. Has anyone else had a regular expense that just crept up on them like that?

Honestly the real cost is the TIME spent in line. Those daily trips add up to hours every month you could have back. The money is one thing, but I value that free time way more now.

But how much time are we really talking about? If your line is 10 minutes, that's like 50 minutes a week. I just scroll my phone anyway, it's not wasted time.
