My local library has a free pass program for the aquarium. I checked one out last month and took my nephew, saved us like $50 on tickets.

Free museum days really opened my eyes, so I now explore neighborhood festivals for cheap fun.

Gotta try this after reading @gavinw85's post. My festival strategy is mostly just eating expensive fried food, so maybe I need to copy your plan.
