Update: took me 4 months to figure out why my free pinecone wreaths kept falling apart
Last fall I started collecting pinecones from the park near my apartment in Spokane and making wreaths with dollar store wire and hot glue, but every single one came apart within a week. I finally figured out the cones were still closed up with sap and needed baking at 200 degrees for 30 minutes to dry out, which took me 4 months of trial and error because I kept blaming the glue. Did anyone else learn the hard way that free craft supplies come with a whole extra prep step?
