Just found out my local library lets you borrow fishing rods for free

I was at the downtown branch picking up a book last Tuesday and noticed a weird display near the checkout counter. Turns out they have a whole bin of fishing gear you can check out with your library card, no strings attached. Has anyone else stumbled onto free rental programs at their library that caught you off guard?

Libraries with fishing rods, who knew they were trying to turn us into outdoorsmen between checking out mystery novels. Want to bet those poles are missing half the line and all the lures by the end of the first summer? Next they'll have a tent and a cooler full of old bait you can borrow.
