A buddy swore by free museum days, I laughed until I did the math

My friend Dave kept saying hit the free admission days at the city museum. I thought it was a scam, like they'd push donations or something. Finally went last Saturday, got in for zero dollars, spent 3 hours looking at old trains. Now I check every museum calendar in town before paying anything. Anyone else find free entry tricks that actually work?
