Found out a mason in Des Moines laid 1,200 brick in one day and I can't stop thinking about it
I was reading through an old trade journal from 1987 at a yard sale in Des Moines and there was a short piece on a guy named Harold who laid 1,200 brick in a single day on a school job. Most crews I know are happy with 500 to 700 a day on a straight run, so that number jumped out at me. Turns out he was working with a tender who kept the line stocked and the mud mixed just right, plus the brick were already staged on the scaffold. Has anyone here ever hit a number like that on a real job, or is that just the kind of story that gets bigger every time it's told?
