The guy at Bothell Feed & Seed told me to plant my tomatoes deeper and I got triple the yield
I thought he was just trying to sell me more soil but I buried those stems up to the first leaves and now I'm giving away extras to the neighbors who doubted it, anyone else get weird gardening advice from old timers that actually works?

Used to think burying them that deep would rot the stems... but tried it last year after seeing my neighbor's monster plants and yeah, total game changer.

and the extra roots that sprout from the buried stem make them way more drought resistant too @wesleypatel
