Reading a plant guide from the 1800s gave me a weird fact about roses

I was looking through an old botany book at the library in Portland and found a section that said some rose varieties can have over 100 petals on a single bloom... I always thought they had way fewer. Has anyone else come across a plant fact that seemed totally wrong at first?

That "over 100 petals" thing blew my mind, I always pictured maybe thirty max.

Yeah, some old garden roses get totally wild like that.

Read that too, mark_hernandez12, some have over two hundred.
