My orchid finally grew a new leaf after eight months of nothing

Honestly, I almost gave up on this phalaenopsis. It sat on my kitchen windowsill for over half a year with zero growth. Ngl, I was just watering it on a schedule and ignoring it. Then, about three weeks ago, I started misting the aerial roots lightly every morning. I saw a tiny green nub last week, and now there's a full inch of new leaf. Has anyone else had a plant just decide to start growing again after a super long pause?

Misting probably didn't cause it, orchids just grow when they want to.

Tell me about it. My phalaenopsis hasn't put out a new leaf in almost a year, and I've tried everything. They really do have their own schedule.
