But isn't the whole point to have a free-flowing talk? When you force questions, it kills any chance for a real, organic conversation to just happen. Do you think the person running it had a bad experience where no one talked, so now they're over-correcting? It just seems like a rule that misses the point of why people join a book club for fun.

Ugh, maybe I'm the problem since my 'spontaneous' questions are always written down anyway.

Actually, writing questions down can help you remember good points you wanted to bring up (totally normal). It doesn't have to kill the flow if you're not just reading off a script.
