Our book club had to choose between 'The Road' and 'Station Eleven' for our dystopian theme
We voted last Tuesday and it was a close call, with 6 people wanting the Cormac McCarthy book and 5 preferring Emily St. John Mandel. I picked 'Station Eleven' because I heard it was more about hope after the end. The discussion got pretty heated when we talked about which story felt more real. What's the best book club argument you've ever been in?

Which part of the argument got the most personal?

Honestly @the_felix, when they brought up his family, it got way too personal.

Did you end up getting a chance to actually read both books before the vote? That whole situation sounds rough, I hate when book club picks turn into personal attacks like that.
