I've been shuffling my Dominion cards wrong for like five years
A guy at our game night in Seattle pointed out I was doing the 'mash shuffle' which bends the cards, and showed me the proper 'overhand' method. Anyone else have a basic game rule or technique they totally missed for ages?

My friend shuffled Ticket to Ride wrong for a decade.

allen.oscar, that's a classic board game fail. I've seen people just mash the Ticket to Ride deck together without a proper riffle shuffle. They end up with huge clumps of the same color train cards for the whole game. It ruins the whole point of drawing random cards to complete routes. A bad shuffle basically hands someone an easy win if they draw four blue cards in a row. After ten years, I hope someone finally showed them how to mix the deck properly.
