Saw a trick at a thrift store where a lady used old sheet music as wallpaper
She just taped pages from a $2 book of Chopin pieces in a grid pattern on her kitchen wall and it looked way fancier than it had any right to - anyone else ever raided a charity shop for random paper to cover a blank spot?

And honestly that's the whole secret to making any boring space look intentional - just commit to something weird enough that people assume you're being artistic. I've been noticing lately how much it matters to just pick a theme and GO with it, even if it's just random pages from a dusty piano book.

Yes, totally agree with that "commit to something weird" part... that's really the key. I did the same thing in my living room with a bunch of old maps I found at a thrift store, just covered one whole wall with them. @lewis.charlie got me thinking about how we overthink our spaces way too much. People actually compliment it all the time and I'm like "really? I just wanted to cover a hole in the drywall" lol. But honestly once you commit to the weirdness, everyone just assumes you're some kind of design genius.
