Framing kids art took me 6 hours for one wall, still not happy with the layout

I thought I could just tape my 4 year old's drawings to the living room wall in a fun grid. Ended up spending 6 hours measuring, redoing, and then switching to cheap ikea frames from the Portland store because the tape left sticky marks. The real killer was getting the spacing even between frames - thought it would take 30 minutes max. Has anyone found a good trick for eyeballing spacing without a laser level?

Spending 6 hours measuring and redoing" for KID ART? Look, I get wanting things to look nice, but it's finger paintings from a 4 year old. They're gonna bring home like 400 more of them in the next year alone. That tape leaving sticky marks is annoying, sure, but I bet you could just put them up with blu tac or poster putty and nobody would notice the difference from across the room. Eyeballing spacing is not that hard if you just step back and look at it for 2 seconds. You are WAY overthinking this for some crayon drawings that will get replaced next Tuesday.

Oh yeah, @maxm50 is onto something. Blu tac is the way to go for kid art.
