Hot take: Using apple wood from pruned orchards cuts down on waste.
Curious if others have tried similar sustainable wood sources?

What about the extra fuel and work to collect all those pruned branches? Those small apple wood pieces are often too twisted or short for real projects, so they end up as mulch or trash anyway. Processing this wood needs special tools that cost a lot, making it not really worth the effort. Plus, if you don't dry it just right, the wood can split and ruin it for things like furniture or bbq.

Like those twisted branches, most stuff isn't worth the effort.

Yeah, the "not really worth the effort" part hits home.
