Hit my 500th rack of ribs on the smoker last weekend and it felt weird

I was rolling through a Saturday cook for a neighborhood block party and counted up my rib cooks from the notebook I keep. It came out to exactly 500 racks over about 4 years of backyard smoking. That number surprised me because I never felt like I was doing that many. Most of them were baby backs from Costco and maybe 10 were full spares. Has anyone else ever added up their total cooks and gotten a number that made you stop and think?

That's a cool number to hit without even realizing it. Adding up my own cooks surprised me too when I hit around 300 racks and noticed how much I'd settled into a few go-to methods. Keeping a simple log like that really shows how a regular hobby adds up over time.

I can barely remember what I smoked last week without a notebook, so your careful record-keeping is honestly a bit intimidating. Maybe now you get a free hat from Costco for being in their top 1% of rib buyers or something.
