TIL 60% of barbers don't check their clipper blades for temperature damage

Found a study from a styling tool company that said most of us just run blades until they fail. Has anyone else noticed hot blades messing up their cuts more often than they'd like?

My buddy Gary runs a shop downtown and he swears by the "touch test" before every cut. He’ll hold the blade against his wrist for a second, like checking a baby bottle. I always thought he was being dramatic until I grabbed a hot clipper from his station by accident last month. Now I do the same thing with my own gear, especially after a busy Saturday. Anybody else got a weird ritual they do to avoid burnt scalps?

Used to think he was just being extra cautious too, not gonna lie. But after I grabbed a trimmer that had been running nonstop for hours, yeah, that little wrist check is now part of my routine.
