Reading an old article about the first ATM in New York City and the fee shocked me

I was looking through some old finance magazines and saw that the very first ATM in New York City, installed by Chemical Bank in 1969, charged a $3 fee per withdrawal. Adjusted for inflation, that's over $25 today for a single transaction! It's wild to think people paid that just to get cash without a teller. Does anyone else have stories about crazy old banking fees they've come across?

That's a crazy fee to think about now lol. I used to get annoyed by the two dollar charge at my old bank, but this puts things in a different light. Guess we've got it pretty good these days.
