I thought it was a waste of time until my own check bounced. The app shows pending transactions the paper register never could. Now I can't imagine going back to that old Friday night chore.

Man, I remember my dad showing me how to do that with the carbon copy checks. I switched when my bank gave me one of those little card readers for online banking, had to be around 2008. Felt like magic not having to wait for the paper statement.
