Hot take: mobile check deposit killed the neighborhood bank branch for me

I remember back in 2019 I used to drive 15 minutes to my local bank every Friday to deposit checks from my tree service clients. Now I just snap a photo on my phone and it's done in 30 seconds. The difference is night and day over just 6 years. But everyone seems to think this is a bad thing for banking, like we're losing personal service. I actually prefer the convenience, even if I don't chat with a teller anymore. Has anyone else found they save more time than they lost with the old way?

Nothing beats small talk with a teller while a line of 10 people waits behind you.

Oh man, I'm with you 100%. I used to have to take a whole lunch break just to go deposit checks from my handyman gig, now I'm done before my coffee gets cold. Honestly I don't miss the forced small talk or the 3:00 PM Friday rush one bit, convenience wins every time.

Not sure my teller misses hearing about my tree trimming invoices either.
