Hot take: hammock chairs are either the best or worst backyard upgrade, is there no middle ground?

I put up a hammock chair under my pergola last Saturday, the $45 one from the hardware store with the metal spreader bar. First hour was amazing, I was swinging and reading my book. Then my neighbor came over, sat in it, and the whole thing tilted sideways because I hung it from two different height beams. Now I'm looking at it and thinking, do I buy a proper stand for $80 more or just take it down? I've seen posts where people love these things for years, but my first try was a struggle.
