Overheard a guy at the feed store say he doesn't worm his flock 'unless they look sick'
That seems like a recipe for trouble, given how fast parasites can spread. How often do you all actually do a preventative deworming schedule?

My vet told me you can't see a heavy worm load until it's already a big problem. We do a fecal egg count every spring and fall to check.

Yikes, that's playing with fire. @schmidt.amy is right, you can't always see the problem until it's too late.
