Mite treatment I was dead wrong about

I thought diatomaceous earth was the gold standard for mites until I pulled a bird out last month and saw them crawling all over her vent even after two weeks of dusting. A buddy convinced me to try Elector PSP and it knocked them out in one spray, wish I switched sooner. Anyone else have a product they were skeptical of but turned out way better than the "common sense" fix?

You saying "crawling all over her vent" is pretty gross, I'll give you that. But I feel like sometimes we panic over a few mites when it's not actually a crisis situation for the whole flock. I've used DE for years and it keeps things manageable enough that I've never seen them really take over a bird like that.

Panic over a few mites" is how I justify the late night google searches, honestly.
