Warning: My squirrel-proof feeder in Portland tipped over and spilled a week's worth of seed.

I was watching from my kitchen window when a big crow landed on the wrong side and the whole thing flipped, so I had to go out and rig a better anchor with a cinder block. Anyone else have a feeder that just gave up on the job?

Watched a squirrel do that exact thing to my hanging feeder last spring. It was like a tiny furry acrobat hanging off the bottom until the lid popped open. Ended up switching to a weight activated one that shuts the ports when something heavy lands. Those crows are clever though, they might just figure out how to trip it anyway. What kind of feeder did you have that tipped over so easy?

Yeah, those hanging ones are a pain. I had a similar feeder and a big raccoon basically did the same thing, pulled the whole pole down. Honestly, the cinder block is a good start, but you might want to get a proper ground stake. I sunk a metal one about two feet deep and attached the pole to it with hose clamps. Hasn't moved since, even with squirrels launching themselves at it lol.
