Tried the popular AT section hike everyone raves about in VA instead of my usual Shenandoah loop

Last month I finally did the triple crown section near Daleville after hearing people say it's way better than the classic Shenandoah out-and-back. The views were good for like 3 miles, then it was just crowds and trash near the road crossings. My usual 30-mile loop in Shenandoah has way less people and more consistent scenery, even if there's no big famous rock outcropping. Has anyone else been let down by a hyped section compared to a quiet local route?

The triple crown section was packed when I went too. I swapped to a lesser known stretch near the James River Foot Bridge and saw maybe three people in two days. The hiking along the river was actually prettier than the ridge line views for me. Did you have a specific quiet loop in Shenandoah you liked?

Man that river stretch sounds way better, totally feel your pain on those crowded trails.
