That $50 ultralight tent from Amazon was a disaster on the PCT

Bought one of those cheap Chinese ultralight tents for my section hike of the Pacific Crest Trail last summer. First night out near Mount Whitney, the seams split in light wind. Woke up at 2am with my gear soaked from dew because the rainfly didn't seal right. Anyone else get burned by budget gear on a serious route?

Split the seams" sounds like user error, not a bad tent.
