I finally tried that 'shortcut' on the PCT near Snoqualmie Pass

I saw it on a map and thought I'd save an hour, but it was just a washed out game trail that dead-ended at a cliff. Had to backtrack over 3 miles of rough terrain in the dark, which totally wrecked my schedule for the next day. Has anyone else been burned by a bad map note on that section?

Was that the one near the old logging road?

There was a whole thread about that spot last week. People were saying the county might close it off for good. Someone posted a map showing how the trail has washed out pretty bad. It's a shame because it was a nice quiet place to walk.

Watching places like that get closed off feels like a slow loss. That trail by the logging road, the little creek we used to skip rocks in, even the old diner on 5th. They chip away at the spots that just felt normal. Makes you want to hold onto the good ones left before they're just stories.
