Can we talk about those cheap oil filter wrenches...

I wasted $18 on a universal metal band style wrench that just slipped off every single filter I tried. Has anyone found a strap wrench that actually grabs tight without rounding things off?

Grab a Lisle 63600 strap wrench off Amazon for like $12. Ngl I was skeptical but it's got this rubber coating that actually bites into the filter without crushing it. Honestly the trick is to wrap it tight and then pull at an angle, not straight on. Tbh I've used mine on half a dozen oil changes now and it's still holding up fine. The metal band ones are garbage for sure, they just slip and tear up your knuckles.

Man I feel you on that. Those metal band ones are the worst, I still got a scar on my hand from one that slipped and spun around. That Lisle sounds like a lifesaver though, might have to grab one before my next change.
