I finally tried that 'quick-set' body filler from the truck last month

It kicked off in under 90 seconds on a 70-degree day, and I had to grind the whole mess off a quarter panel. Anyone have a go-to filler for warmer weather that doesn't set up like concrete?

Kicked off in under 90 seconds" is just crazy to me. That's not even enough time to spread it smooth. I've had stuff get hot on me before, but that's a whole new level of fast. For warmer days, I just stick with the regular stuff and mix super small batches. I mean, like a golf ball size at most. You get maybe two minutes to work it, but that's better than watching it turn to rock on the panel.

Golf ball size batches" is smart, but have you tried pre-chilling your tools? A cold trowel buys you a few extra seconds when it's really cooking.

Under 90 seconds to kick? How is that even a usable product? That's barely enough time to scoop it out of the can. I'd be throwing that tube straight in the trash.
