Had to choose between a stud welder and a glue pull setup for a dent on a 2018 Civic hood...
Went with the stud welder cause I already had the slide hammer. The hood had this weird crease right over the reinforcement bar so glue tabs wouldn't grab good. Took about 20 minutes of pulling and shrinking but got it 98% flat. Still had to skim a tiny bit of filler though. Anyone else run into trouble with glue pulling on reinforced panels?

You tried glue pulling on a reinforced hood too right? The problem is always those reinforcement bars underneath. The glue tabs just can't get a good bite because the panel is too stiff in that spot. Stud welding is definitely the move there. I had a similar issue on a Camry trunk lid where the glue pull just bounced right off. The slide hammer gives you way more control for those tight creases too. You might try a smaller stud next time for tricky spots near reinforcements. Did you have to use much filler after the pull?

Tried a smaller stud on a Ford F-150 hood near the reinforcement and it worked way better, barely needed any filler after because the pull was so clean. Just had to work it slow with the slide hammer to stretch the metal evenly instead of just popping it.
