Had to choose between a stud welder and a glue pull on a 2017 Accord hood today
So I got this hood in from a guy who backed into his own basketball hoop pole. The dent was about the size of a dinner plate, right on the center crease. I stood there for a solid five minutes trying to decide if I should break out the stud welder or try the glue pull method first. The glue pull is way faster if it works, but the stud welder gives you more control. I went with the stud welder because the metal was already a little stretched from the hit. Took me about 45 minutes to pull it all out and a quick skim of filler to finish it up. Customer was happy, saved him from buying a whole new hood. Has anyone else had a glue pull fail on a hood crease and regretted skipping the welder?

Honestly, would a glue pull have taken that much longer to try first before breaking out the welder? I've had way better luck with glue on stretched metal since it doesn't add any extra heat to make things worse. You probably wasted time and effort going straight to the welder when the glue could have saved you that skim coat step.
