DAE use a heat gun to soften old seam sealer before scraping it off?
I switched from just chiseling at it cold to warming it for about 30 seconds first, and the difference in clean-up time on a '78 Chevy cab corner was like night and day, saving me at least an hour of messy work.

That's the move right there. My first time trying it, I was so proud of myself for getting the old stuff off, I didn't notice I'd also gently melted a nearby wiring harness (oops). The heat gun is a total game changer, but it turns out you also need to pay attention to where you're pointing the thing.

Sounds like we've all donated a wiring harness to the project.

Wish I had that tip before my own meltdown. @james279, did you at least get the harness spliced back together okay, or was it a total loss? Heat is great until it turns one job into two.
