Shoutout to the $35 meat thermometer that saved Christmas dinner
I spent $35 on a digital meat thermometer last week after my old dial one was way off. I had a 12-pound turkey in the oven and checked it with the new one, found the breast was already at 165 when the old one said 140. Saved me from serving dry, overcooked meat to my whole family. Has anyone else had a cheap tool that ended up paying for itself fast?

My buddy Ryan bought a cheap $20 meat thermometer for his first Thanksgiving hosting and it caught his ham was still raw in the middle when the built-in pop-up said it was done. He pulled it out of the guest bathroom trash after realizing it saved him from feeding everyone Salmonella.

The old dial thermometer tricked me for years too. That 25 degree difference is wild, especially with a 12 pound bird riding on it. I almost ruined a roast chicken last month before I switched to digital. Cheap insurance honestly.
