Last Tuesday was a total disaster at the farmers market in Portland

I had 20 quarts of pickles ready to sell and my cooler died overnight, so everything sat at 60 degrees for 8 hours. The health inspector showed up at 10 AM and made me dump the whole batch into the dumpster. Has anyone else had a refrigeration failure ruin a whole day's work?

Did you have any kind of temp alarm or backup power plan?

Backup power? I had a generator once that started itself during a thunderstorm.
