Just found out you can ask Google to delete your search history in one click
I was messing with my Google account settings yesterday and saw a 'Delete' button under 'My Activity'. I clicked it and it gave me the option to delete everything from the last hour, day, or all time. I chose 'all time' and it wiped years of searches in about 10 seconds. I always thought you had to go in and delete things one by one or that it was saved forever. It's a simple thing but it felt like a big privacy win. Has anyone else used this or found a better way to clean up your digital trail?

Doesn't that just make you wonder where the data really went?

I read an article last year about data backups. It said when you delete something from a major service, it might just be removed from your view. The company often keeps a copy in a different system for their own analysis. It's like taking a book off your shelf but the library still has its record of you checking it out. That click is a good first step, but it's hard to know what's truly erased.
