Unpopular opinion: I stopped using a multimeter first on every dryer call

For years, I'd grab my Fluke and start checking everything, even on simple no-heat jobs. A guy at a supply house in Tacoma said to just feel the exhaust vent first, and now I save 15 minutes every time. Anyone else skip the meter on basic checks?

Feeling vents is the new troubleshooting.

Feeling the vent is a good first step, but you still need the meter to confirm the exact part that failed.
