Two dryers in one afternoon, both with the same cracked drum roller in Phoenix

Last Thursday I went to two separate houses in the same neighborhood, maybe 2 miles apart. First one was a 7 year old dryer making that thumping noise. Second one was a 6 year old model, same noise, same brand. Both had the same cracked drum roller, the plastic hub was split clean in half. I charged $195 for the first trip and $185 for the second because the part was a few bucks cheaper. Weirdest part, both customers said the dryer was acting up for about a month and they just lived with it. Is there some batch of bad rollers that all fail around the same age, or was this just a wild coincidence? Anyone else see pattern failures like this in the same zip code?
