Customer's washing machine ate a sock collection, plus a quarter
Last Thursday I got a call about a front loader that kept throwing an E2 error in Fort Wayne. Opened the pump housing and found six socks, a dog toy, and a 2019 quarter jammed in there like a weird time capsule. The kicker was the drain pump impeller had snapped clean off from the strain, so I had to order a new one and make a second trip. Cost the customer about $215 after parts and labor, and they admitted the kids stuff socks in every load on purpose. I tried telling them a mesh bag would fix 90% of this, but they just laughed and said the machine was old anyway. Has anyone else seen a pump fail from literal pocket change piling up, or is this a new record for weirdest blockage haul?
