Vent: My $40 worm bin purchase was either a total win or a huge waste

I bought a small worm bin for my studio apartment, thinking it would solve my food scrap problem. After two months, it's either a clean, odorless system or a fruit fly farm depending on how careful I am with the greens. Anyone else find the learning curve way steeper than they expected?

The fruit fly battle is real. It gets easier once you nail the browns to greens ratio.

Two months in and my worm bin still feels like a high-stakes science experiment I'm failing. I swear those fruit flies have a better social life than I do, throwing raves in my kitchen every time I mess up. You really have to treat the browns like a security blanket, smothering every last scrap of green. It's a weird hobby where success is just... not having a tiny flying zoo.
