Remember when anime forums had actual spoiler tags you could trust?
I was on a big forum back in maybe 2012, the name escapes me now, but it had a dedicated section for a show I was watching. Someone posted a huge, unmarked spoiler for a major character death right in a thread title. It was just sitting there, unavoidable, before I'd even clicked anything. That was the moment I stopped trusting general discussion boards for ongoing series. I switched to using private, invite-only forums for new shows, where the rules were strict and everyone was at the same point. It changed how I looked for communities online. Now I'm super careful about where I scroll before I'm caught up. Has anyone else had a spoiler experience that made them change their whole online hangout spot?

Ever tried a private subreddit? @the_phoenix has the right idea keeping things locked down.

My private Discord server with just five friends saved my viewing experience.

Totally get that, small groups are the best for actually talking about shows. Reminds me of when my whole family group chat blew up over a show finale, constant spoiler alerts and yelling lol. Having just a few people to vent with keeps things chill and actually fun.
